  • Skyward Express, Safarilink and Jambo Jet fly between Lamu and Nairobi’s Wilson or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport daily. Flights are also available from Malindi and Mombasa airports. All times based on estimates and are subject to change without notice

    The first flight of the day (Jambo Jet) takes off from Wilson Airport at 9:00am arriving into Lamu Airport at 10:20am.

  • Bembea is self-catering which means that apart from basic ingredients (sugar, oil, spices, flour, tea, coffee etc) fresh food is not provided.

    However, during your stay the staff will do all the shopping, cooking, and serving according to your requirements. They will be able to make suggestions about menus and discuss the availability of local produce and fresh fish. All shopping receipts will be kept, and cash payments will need to be made at regular intervals.

  • For your stay, you will be provided with:
    - Toiletries
    - Laundry services (sheets and towels are changed every three days)
    - Wifi
    - 1 cook, 1 steward and 1 waiter.

  • Each room is fitted with its own safe. *Please note that no responsibility is accepted for valuables left in your room.

    Each safe is situated underneath the sink in each ensuite bathroom with their own instructions on how to operate them.

  • You will be collected by our boat captain from the airport and the staff will meet you at the jetty in Shela, and will take your luggage to the house.

    N.B :- Only one pickup and one return to / from the airport is included in the travel logistics.

  • Check-in is anytime from 2:00pm.

    Check-out is by 11am.

  • There is a night watchman (askari) who watches the property each night.

  • We do require a deposit of 50% in order to confirm your reservation and there will be a cancellation policy.
